The Children’s Hospital Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC) is one of the oldest centers of its kind in the United States. The Center is led by Scott Pomeroy, M.D., Ph.D., Neurologist in Chief and IDDRC Director; and Associate Directors Clifford Woolf, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the F.M. Kirby Neurobiology Program at Boston Children's; and Louis Kunkel, Ph.D., Director of the Boston Children's Hospital Genomics Program. Sixty-six Center investigators representing fifteen Departments and Divisions from five adjacent institutions (Harvard Medical School, Boston Children’s Hospital, the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute) carry out research that falls into two major areas: Genetics and Neuroscience. Within the area of neuroscience, Center research falls into two major programmatic categories: Basic Neuroscience, and Clinical/Translational Neuroscience.
