Jacob Hartz | Professional History

Jacob Hartz, MD, MPH is an Instructor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and a Board-certified Pediatrician and Board-certified Pediatric Cardiologist at Boston Children’s Hospital. He is currently the Director of Preventive Cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital.

His research focuses on reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease starting in childhood. He is currently the Principal Investigator for a projects sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute evaluating the use of financial incentive to improve medication adherence in youth with familial hypercholesterolemia. He also is the Principal Investigator for industry-sponsored Phase II drug trials. Dr. Hartz received his MD at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He completed his Pediatric training at Duke University and his Pediatric Cardiology training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He earned his Masters of Public Health in Health Policy from Columbia University.
