Susanna Y. Huh | Professional History

Dr. Huh is a Board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist with clinical and research interests in the effects of early childhood nutrition on lifelong health.  She directs the Growth and Nutrition Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, a multidisciplinary clinic that evaluates and treats children with slow weight gain or feeding difficulties. She is also Associate Director for the Center for Nutrition at Boston Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.   Dr. Huh has research expertise in nutritional epidemiology and has led multiple research studies aimed at better understanding how pre and postnatal nutrition are related to growth and body composition during infancy and early childhood.  Her current clinical research focuses on the risk factors and management of feeding difficulties and poor weight gain.  She has taught gastroenterology, nutrition, clinical epidemiology, and critical interpretation of medical literature to medical students, pediatric residents, and fellows.

Nutrition in early childhood provides an important foundation for lifelong health. I am passionate about improving the nutrition and health of children in multiple ways: by treating patients in my clinic, by researching ways to improve childhood nutrition, and by teaching doctors in training to recognize and treat nutrition-related conditions.
