Topic: Eustachian Tube Dysfunction
Principal Investigator: Dr. Dennis Poe
Summary: Eustachian Tube dysfunction (ETD) can come in two forms, patulous and dilatory dysfunction. We are interested in understanding the etiology, patient demographics, diagnosis, and results of both medical and surgical treatment if ETD. He also has dedicated much of his research towards understanding and studying patulous ETD.

Topic: Ballon Eustachian Tuboplasty
Principal Investigator: Dr. Dennis Poe
Summary: Dr. Poe is in the midst of two clinical trials, examining an alternative surgical approach, balloon Eustachian tuboplasty, for treating otitis media (a result of dilatory ETD). This innovative surgical procedure is an alternative to tymponaplasty tubes, but is not yet approved for use in young children.
