Cost of Care Research | Overview

Dr. Ingrid Ganske completed a time-driven, activity-based costing (TDABC) study to quantify the costs of providing two types of pre-surgical infant orthopedics. She also conducted a cost analysis report on cleft care in the first year of life, and initiated another TDABC study to assess the costs of virtual and in-person consultations for deformational plagiocephaly. Outcomes studies include collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery and neuropsychologist Dr. Hoa Schneider, to explore the long-term neurocognitive outcomes of children treated for large encephalocele, a rare neurological disorder involving protrusion of the meninges and brain outside the cranial bones.
