Duties
- Create a welcoming atmosphere at the main entrance of the hospital.
- Provide wayfinding assistance to patients and families throughout the hospital.
- Deliver items to patients and families throughout the hospital.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old and graduated from high school.

- Available to attend a Zoom interview.
- Available to start in June 2024 and continue for the year commitment.

Minimum commitment
- One set four-hour shift per week for one calendar year (June 2024 to June 2025)
- This timeline includes volunteering during the summer months of 2024. Please keep in mind that we ask volunteers to maintain a weekday, daytime volunteer shift throughout the calendar year.

Duties
- Create a welcoming atmosphere for families as they arrive.
- Provide wayfinding assistance to families checking in.
- Assist with administrative tasks.
- Assist with organizational tasks.

- Available to start in June 2024 and continue for the volunteer commitment.

Surgical Liaison Volunteer
Boston Children’s Hospital, Main Campus
Duties
- Greet parents when they arrive in the waiting area
- Direct parents to restrooms, lockers, phones, cafeteria, chapel, etc.
- Notify Liaison Nurses when parents have questions
- Sit and talk with a parent who may be alone
- Assist Liaison Nurses, surgeons, and visitors in locating parents
- Assist two adult visitors to the child’s bedside in recovery as requested by nurses
Requirements
- At least 18 years old and graduated from high school.
- Excellent customer service skills, outgoing personality, mature individual.
- Position is physically demanding — the volunteer walks long distances between two buildings each shift and should feel comfortable to do so.
- If applying, must fully complete application and submit reference sheet.
- Attend a Zoom interview that will be scheduled by the Volunteer Office.

Waltham Clinic Volunteer
Boston Children's Waltham
This opportunity is available to volunteers at Boston Children’s Waltham, located at 9 Hope Ave., Waltham, MA.
Duties
- Interact with patients and families in the waiting room area - play games, read, and engage in basic art projects.
- Create an art project of the day to engage families during volunteer shifts.
- Help to organize and provide a safe, clean environment while assisting with toy washing.
- Assist the supervisor with any other needs, such as programming or preparing materials for patients and families.
