Flow Cytometry | Overview

*The Flow Cytometry Research Core is now open. Please review our new COVID-19 standard operating procedures before booking or arriving to the core.

Our mission

side population Established in August of 2008, The Flow Cytometry Laboratory is dedicated to advancing all research projects requiring the use of flow cytometry. We are a full service flow cytometry laboratory that provides investigators with state-of-the-art equipment along with the necessary expertise and services to support leading-edge research. We are a BL2-equipped facility with four cell sorters, five analyzers, one Automacs, and two data stations equipped with several popular analysis software. Our lab is open 24/7 for self-sorting/self-analysis.

Our laboratory offers training and access to shared users instrumentation for analytical flow cytometry, service for fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), as well as technical consultation and support on experimental design, execution and data analysis. We are more than a fee-for-service provider. We are personally invested in the success of every experiment. Our model is "until every experiment works."

How can flow cytometry help your research?

Flow cytometry is extremely useful in a broad range of research projects, as well as clinical monitoring studies. Cytometry rapidly provides qualitative and quantitative information, regarding a wide variety of cellular properties, including DNA content, surface molecule expression, cytoplasmic and nuclear antigen expression, receptor-ligand interactions, chromosome analysis, phagocytosis, target-effector cell binding, ion fluxes, expression of genes or gene products, and various light scattering properties. We have extensive experience in cell sorting, multicolor panel design, immunophenotyping, apoptotic studies, intracellular and intranuclear staining.

Our core is supported by a grant 5U54DK110805.
